Synopsis
He was hired to protect her. He never expected to become the one person she couldn't afford to lose.
Dr. Maya Lin has seventy-two hours to expose a corporate conspiracy that could destroy her career—and put her life in danger. The evidence is locked inside an encrypted hardware vault, and powerful people are already hunting for it.
Leo Vance knows how to protect people without getting attached. As a discreet security specialist operating behind the polished identity of a wealthy investment executive, he's built his life around control, distance, and completing the contract.
When Leo is assigned to keep Maya alive during a high-profile technology summit in Geneva, they have one problem: an obvious bodyguard would attract exactly the attention they're trying to avoid.
Their solution is simple. Pretend they're together.
But the closer they get, the harder it becomes to tell where the cover ends and the truth begins. Behind the gala lights and luxury hotels, surveillance is closing in, the clock is running down, and someone inside the conspiracy knows exactly what Maya is carrying.
Then Leo's carefully constructed identity is exposed.
Maya must decide whether the man protecting her is someone she can trust—or the greatest deception of all.
With danger closing around them and the evidence at risk of disappearing, Leo and Maya will have to choose between keeping their walls intact and trusting the connection neither of them planned for.
